About 6 months ago, give or take a few, I was at home on a lazy Sunday afternoon flippin through the channels when I stumbled upon the "This is the Life" documentary of The Good Life Cafe. It had just came on, so I was lucky enough to see the entire show. It was AMAZING! I don't even know where to begin to describe the elation I felt through all of the emcees and their journey that began at The Good Life. Ya know how certain songs you hear will give you chills? Well, I can't even recall how many times I got them while seeing performances on that documentary! That is REAL HIP-HOP! Today's youth has no idea about the roots of hip hop and what it means to the music culture, notice I said culture, not industry. That word is what has ruined society's image of hip hop. The Good Life was the epitome of a groundbreaking hip hop movement! Thanks so much for the invite! Every avid hip hop fan should see this documentary and all that has come to follow it. The Hieroglyphics, Jurassic 5, Abstract Rude, Myka Nine & on & on! So much love & respect for you & all those cats, fo real! THANK YOU!
