Living in Texas in the '80s was not the best place to discover hip hop but by '88 I was hooked on 'The Great Adventures of Slick Rick' and 'Follow the Leader' which both flipped my wig. '3 Feet High and Rising' is another story altogether with creative sampling, odd rhymes and down to earth subject matter, well I fell in love. Then 'Ghetto Music: The Blueprint Of Hip Hop' dropped and KRS, D-Nice, Miss Melody and Kenny Parker came to Austin with a very intense stage presence and that changed my life. Beyond that I listened to anything I could get my hands on eventually leading me to Innercity Griots and the rest is history.

My First Blowed Experience
Austin,TX back in '95 a few MC's came to the Catfish Station a downtown club and tripped a bunch of folks out, the MC's Ace-One, Chu, Ridd, Fsh, Ellay Khule, along with DJ Kiilu altered the hip hop landscape of this southern town. Soon cyphers turned into sessions and the east coast thing that plagued the capitol of Texas took a back seat to Cali-stylistics.
