Born James Bray, this East Coast lyricist/writer and recording artist crafted his unique blend of "Vocab-Driven Delivery" as a result of years of studying everyone from William Shakespeare to Will I Am. Having a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts put him in a position to be well-versed in live performance with an insatiable thirst for language. Moved, at an early age, by the power and passion of Hip-hop, with it's creative cadences and urgent expression the poet inside him found a home in rap's rhythms. While Los Angeles is home, it is living all over the world from Italy to the heart of the Caribbean which has afforded Jimnastyx the wide and varied perspective showcased in his complex lyrics. With style that ranges from thought provoking and insightful to catchy and clever, he is able to speak to, reach and move a wide audience of listeners. Songs like the single "Cleopatra" blend radio ready appeal with nightclub energy, while more pensive tracks, such as "In It Together" reveal political commentary and a wildly dynamic recording artist. The "Cleverage" E.P. marks the debut of Jimnastyx into the West Coast music scene and is the launch platform for the full 11 song album, projected to be released in Summer, 2009.
